Subclass 600 Visas

The subclass 600 Visitor visa is a temporary visa that allows you to visit Australia for tourism, business, or medical treatment. These are streams of the subclass 600 Visitor visa:

  • Tourist stream: This stream is for a person who wants to visit a parent, spouse, de facto partner, brother or sister who is an Australian citizen or PR or to visit Australia.
  • Family-Sponsored Stream: This stream is for a person who wants to visit a parent, spouse, de facto partner, brother or sister who is an Australian citizen
  • Business visitor stream: This stream is for people who want to visit Australia for business purposes.
  • Approved Destination Status Stream: This stream is for citizens of the PRC who intends to travel as a member of a tour organised by a travel agent.
  • Frequent Traveller Stream: This stream is for people who want to visit Australia for business purposes.

To be eligible for a subclass 600 Visitor visa, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You may be in or outside/ must be outside Australia when you apply depending upon the stream you apply.
  • You must have a genuine intention to visit Australia and return home.
  • You must have enough money to support yourself while you are in Australia.
  • You must meet the health and character requirements.

In addition to the general requirements, there are some specific requirements that you must meet depending on the stream of the visa that you are applying for. For example, if you are applying for the tourist stream, you must provide evidence that you have booked your travel and accommodation in Australia. If you are applying for the business visitor stream, you must provide evidence that you have a business reason for visiting Australia.
